The Center for Craft selected four fellows for 2026 to research underrepresented craft histories: Sadé DuBoise on Tlingit octopus bags and knowledge transmission, Shahini Fakhourie on Middle Eastern embroidery as resistance, Margie Merritt on Black stonework in Tennessee cemeteries, and Sarah Weston on tactile craft practices in 19th-century schools for the blind. Each fellow receives a $5,000 honorarium and their research will be published and presented nationally.
