What backs it

Khaled el-Shahat found the remains of two Ramesses II statues while working his land in Behbeit El Hagar, northern Egypt, and reported them to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, which sent a team to excavate. The larger statue once stood about 8.5 metres tall; its surviving 1.6-metre head shows the pharaoh in the double crown of Upper and Lower Egypt.
