Pittsburgh Water has launched a debt forgiveness program for customers earning at or below 200% of federal poverty level ($66,000 for a family of four); 4,300 customers were automatically enrolled September 1, and can have accumulated debt forgiven if they pay bills on time for 24 months.
Customers can miss up to two payments during the 24-month period and still qualify.
