FDA-cleared exoskeleton puts spinal-cord patients back on their feet
Reported byNew Atlas ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
The FDA has authorized commercial sale of Eve, a personal exoskeleton built by French company Wandercraft that uses twelve motors in the hips, knees, and ankles to enable people with spinal-cord injuries to stand, walk, and perform everyday tasks independently without crutches or a walker.
Eve is designed for standing and short-distance movement at home rather than wheelchair replacement. It requires users to operate a control joystick and is calibrated individually before use.
