Callum Smith, 23, from Warwickshire, has joined Team Brit as a rookie driver and will test an adapted BMW 1 Series at Donnington Park on 2 September, using foot controls to steer and operate pedals. The all-disabled racing team aims to become the first fully disabled crew to compete in the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Smith has been driving for only two years and must still prove he can exit the car unaided in 10 seconds to get a racing licence; the team's ultimate Le Mans goal remains a future ambition.
