A February 2026 expedition led by The Wilderness Project documented 8 undescribed dragonfly species, 3 new grasshoppers, and hundreds of moth specimens in Angola's Lisima plateau, a biodiversity hotspot at the source of four major African river systems (Congo, Okavango, Zambezi, Cuanza) that had remained largely unexplored due to civil war and landmines.
