VFW Post 1273 Provides Free Winter Clothing and Boots to Local Veterans

VFW Post 1273 in Rapid City, South Dakota, held its Boots on the Ground event on Sunday, providing local veterans and military families with free winter coats, hats, gloves, boots and t-shirts. Veterans received first access from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by public access from 2 to 3 p.m. Retired Air Force member Joe Kern described the emotional impact, recalling a veteran who cried receiving new boots after his own had been held together with duct tape.
