Uzbekistan reduced its poverty rate from 5.8% to 3.9% in the first eight months of 2026 through employment services, entrepreneurship support and infrastructure investment: 160,000 people were employed, 67,000 received preferential loans, 304,000 entered entrepreneurship, and 7.7 trillion som ($653.8 million) was allocated to improve water, electricity and road infrastructure in 1,245 neighborhoods.
