Two Przewalski's horse foals were born in late August 2026 at the Alibi Wild Ungulates Reintroduction Center in Kazakhstan—the first wild horses born on Kazakh soil in more than 200 years, a milestone for the country's reintroduction effort involving 22 horses translocated from European zoos.
The foals were born inside a managed enclosure; the full wild population goal is 40 horses, the minimum needed for long-term self-sustainability.
