On August 20, two climbers became stranded on Pingora Peak in Wyoming's Wind River Range after their rope stuck during rappel descent. Search-and-rescue teams, including high-angle specialists from Lander SAR, reached them the next morning via helicopter and lowered both climbers to safety. Both were uninjured and reported being thirsty and tired after their overnight ledge stay; they later hiked out and continued their trip.
