Researchers map which body parts are ticklish across cultures

Researchers Ziliang Xiong and Konstantina Kilteni at Sweden's Karolinska Institute surveyed 448 adults across Chinese, Dutch, and Greek populations and found that ticklish body parts—neck, armpits, abdomen, and feet—are remarkably consistent across cultures, partly supporting a theory Charles Darwin proposed in 1872 about less-touched areas being more sensitive.
