Sean McCann, a Citizen Potawatomi Nation Democrat, won Michigan's Fourth Congressional District with 50.89% of the vote, defeating eight-term Republican incumbent Bill Huizenga by 6,492 votes and flipping a seat held by Republicans since 1933.
McCann is one of two Anishinaabe people elected to Congress this week; five Native Americans total were elected or re-elected to the U.S. House on Tuesday.
