Open source semi: Windrose puts its electric truck online, for free
Reported byElectrek ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
Windrose founder Wen Han released the complete CAD models for all 1,023 parts of the E700 Class 8 electric truck online, allowing independent shops to fabricate replacement and repair parts without depending on the manufacturer for supply.
The 15-year service life assumes the trucks remain in operation; long-term durability and independent parts manufacturing viability will depend on actual adoption and fab-shop capacity.
Goodlede runs a two-pass source check on every story: one pass finds it, a second skeptical pass re-verifies the claim and writes what it doesn’t prove. This is a source check, not an independent fact-check — confirm anything important at the link above.
