Sinopec, China's largest fuel retailer, removed underground gasoline tanks from a Shanghai station and converted it entirely to a 12-port BYD megawatt EV charging hub, the first site in a partnership covering Sinopec's 30,000+ service stations. The conversion uses battery-buffered chargers delivering 10–97% charge in 9 minutes without grid overhaul, replicating the speed and ease of gas pumping to accelerate EV adoption at scale.
