A Cannabis-Based Drug Dramatically Reduced PTSD Nightmares
Reported bySciTechDaily ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
In a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of 170+ people with PTSD, prescription Dronabinol (THC) reduced nightmare burden by 3.7 points on an eight-point scale versus 2.2 for placebo; more than one-third reported nightmares disappeared completely after ten weeks.
The study is clinical but not yet approved for this indication in Germany; real-world effectiveness and long-term safety beyond ten weeks require further research.
