Cuba receives another 5,000 solar systems from China, expands renewable energy incentives

Cuba received 5,000 photovoltaic systems with 14.3 kWh storage capacity each (approximately 18 MW distributed PV capacity and 71.5 MWh combined storage) to electrify rural homes and essential services across 169 municipalities. New renewable energy incentives include a $3.30/kWh payment rate and tax exemptions for clean energy equipment.

Second batch follows an initial donation of 5,000 systems in November 2025; long-term deployment and maintenance depend on Cuba's institutional capacity and grid integration.
