Reported byOceanographic Magazine ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
More than 30 countries have pledged €211 million to launch the OceanEye International Alliance, announced at the UN General Assembly this week by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, to close critical gaps in ocean monitoring and improve access to data for coastal resilience and marine resource management.
The alliance was formally announced this week; implementation through the Global Ocean Observing System will require sustained commitment and participation from additional nations.
