New Antiviral Pill Could Break the Chain of Measles Transmission
Reported bySciTechDaily ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
Georgia State University researchers found that an experimental oral antiviral called GHP-88310 prevented transmission of canine distemper virus (a measles-like illness) in ferrets through both direct contact and shared air when given before or after exposure.
This is a ferret model; clinical translation to humans will require further research and testing.
