In Photos: The Sea Creatures Lurking Off the Shores of Nantucket
Reported byNautilus ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
An aerial survey of the Northwest Canyons and Seamount Marine National Monument (4,900 square miles southeast of Cape Cod) captured images of more than 2,000 marine animals including hundreds of dolphins of four species, humpback whales, manta rays, whale sharks, and endangered blue and fin whales.
The area's protections were rolled back by the Trump administration, which has reopened it to commercial fishing.
