How clean air clubs are protecting Americans from wildfire smoke

Over 40 clean air clubs and mask blocs around the world are operating lending libraries to distribute free masks and air purifiers to communities affected by wildfire smoke. Mask Bloc Los Angeles handed out more than 300,000 masks during recent wildfires, with mutual aid groups expanding a Covid-era PPE distribution model to protect vulnerable populations from dangerous air quality.

Clean air clubs reduce immediate exposure risk but do not address the underlying wildfire and smoke drivers.
