Ford backs a big new solar farm for its Michigan factories
Reported byElectrek ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
Detroit Energy Company DTE Energy completed a 100-megawatt solar farm near Coldwater, Michigan, funded by Ford's $194 million investment through the MIGreenPower program. The Cold Creek Solar Park generates enough power for 23,000–25,000 households and is the first of several projects supporting Ford's goal to assemble every vehicle in Michigan with 100% carbon-free electricity by end of 2027.
Ford's original target was 2025; the new deadline of end of 2027 represents a delay.
