Eugene Becomes 5th Oregon City to Adopt Home Energy Score Requirement
Reported byCleanTechnica ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
Eugene City Council voted 6–1 on October 28 to adopt a Home Energy Score requirement for home sales, joining Portland, Hillsboro, Milwaukie and Bend. The policy ensures home buyers receive energy efficiency information and helps the city advance its goal to reduce emissions by 50% by 2030. More than 1 million Oregonians now live in a jurisdiction with such a disclosure policy.
The ordinance requires disclosure; it does not mandate specific efficiency upgrades or retrofits.
