England set to eliminate hepatitis C

England has already met the target of treating 80% of all known hepatitis C cases, with more than 100,000 people diagnosed and treated since 2015; deaths from the virus have fallen 36% in the last decade and the country is on track to beat the WHO's 2030 elimination target.

The 65% mortality reduction target (compared to 2015 baseline) has not yet been fully achieved, though figures suggest it may be met before 2030.
