David Bowie's Official Photographer Transforms His Photo Archive Into an Immersive Experience

Denis O'Regan, who photographed David Bowie more than any other photographer and amassed an archive of over 10,000 images, has turned 800 of them into 'Bowie: Unseen | Unheard', an immersive spatial-sound documentary playing across eight screens with 84 hidden speakers and 12 Bowie songs alongside O'Regan's own commentary. It is showing in the Venice Immersive section of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, developed with the full cooperation of Bowie's estate.
The installation runs only through September 12, 2026, and is showing at the Venice Film Festival rather than on general release.
