Ctenophores Aren't Just Beautiful. They're Biological Wonders.

Ctenophores, or comb jellies, are helping scientists answer fundamental questions in biology including how the earliest nervous systems evolved and how bioluminescence works. Over the past decade, research on nearly 200 living species has revealed that ctenophores, not sponges, were likely the earliest branching animal lineage some 700 million years ago, resolving a decades-long scientific debate.
