The SINGLE-AF randomized trial of 1,803 people in South Korea found that direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) reduced the combined risk of stroke, systemic embolism, major bleeding, or cardiovascular death by 69% over two years in patients with atrial fibrillation at intermediate stroke risk, with no increase in major bleeding events.
