Comics for Conservation

PhD graduate Carlos Mauricio Delgado Martínez created a comic book distributed to schools across the Calakmul region of Campeche to raise awareness of turtle road mortality, a critical threat to seven local turtle species. The initiative directly reduces vehicle collisions by encouraging safer driving behavior in a region where even small losses of breeding adults can devastate wild populations.
