Campaign to boost Black nonprofit fundraising
Reported byChronicle of Philanthropy ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
BackBlack, a GivingTuesday-style campaign, has directed more than $12 million toward Black-led nonprofits over three years. Last year's efforts drew more than 130,000 unique donors, the majority giving under $100, and this year organizers are leveraging content creators to reach Black Gen Z audiences.
Black-led nonprofits saw no significant overall funding increase after 2020; this campaign addresses that gap among smaller organizations.
