Babies Who Grew Up With Strict Sugar Limits During Wartime Showed Dramatically Better Adult Health Decades Later
Reported byScienceAlert ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
A study of 64,761 people born in the UK between 1951–1956 found that babies whose first 1,000 days coincided with sugar rationing (which ended in September 1953) had 69% lower liver cancer incidence, 52% lower prostate cancer, 41% lower lung cancer, 40% lower rectal cancer, and 36% lower breast cancer as adults, plus longer telomeres indicating roughly 2.2 years less biological aging.
Fascinating historical observational data.
