A longer exhale may push your brain toward bolder decisions
Reported byScienceDaily ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
Researchers from German institutions studied 41 healthy participants and found that deliberately slowing breathing with prolonged exhalations (2:8 inhale-exhale ratio) increased heart rate variability, made the brain more responsive to rewards, and led people to make bolder risk-related choices.
The study examined decision-making in controlled laboratory conditions with a small participant group; real-world applicability to daily decisions remains to be tested.
