The former Greenfield Grind Skate Park in Wilmington was officially renamed The Alec Chambers Skate Park on Friday, August 21, in memory of Alec Chambers, a 32-year-old local skateboarder who died after being hit by a vehicle in December 2025. A petition supporting the renaming received more than 6,800 signatures, and Wilmington City Council unanimously approved it in April.
