Wyoming's largest wildlife crossing is ahead of schedule. It plans to reduce deer-vehicle collisions by 90%

A $30 million wildlife crossing in Wyoming—comprising 63 miles of eight-foot-tall fencing, seven underpass structures, and one overpass—is expected to reduce deer-vehicle collisions by 80–90% along U.S. Highway 189 and is now scheduled for completion by October 2027, a year ahead of the original late-2028 target.

The reduction estimate is projected; actual outcomes will depend on wildlife behavior and driver compliance.
