StemRad's AstroRad radiation-shielding vest flew aboard NASA's uncrewed Artemis I mission to the Moon and back; flight data shows it would perform roughly as well as the Orion's heavily shielded onboard shelter during a solar storm, reducing effective dose by 60 percent without protecting the head.
This is a proof-of-concept test; the vest has not yet been deployed on crewed missions.
