Wetland Conservation Funding of $67 Million will Protect Wildlife and Restore Critical Habitats

The U.S. Department of the Interior announced more than $67 million in wetland conservation funding, with nearly $45 million approved through the North American Wetlands Conservation Act to conserve, restore, or enhance more than 185,000 acres of wetland and associated upland habitat for migratory birds across all 50 states, Canada, and Mexico.

Federal funding is combined with contributions from state agencies, conservation organizations, private landowners, and local communities; the partnership model allows projects to achieve greater conservation impact than public funding alone.
