Joel Greenia and Ray Halbert answered a newspaper classified ad in 1979 to find each other, rode 3,485 miles coast-to-coast in 57 days, lost touch for 45 years, and then reconnected in 2024 when Halbert tracked Greenia down via the internet. In July 2026 they completed a second bike trip together from Detroit to Buffalo.
