They call it 'a dream fulfilled' -- new homes designed for (and by) slum residents

Residents of Sanjaynagar, a crowded slum in Maharashtra housing 900 people in 206 metal shacks, moved into a newly constructed three-story building with 33 apartments designed with their input. Each unit includes a living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom with running water, and balcony; the building uses heat-deflecting materials and provides privacy that residents say transforms their daily lives.
