Samoa Conservation Society has formally joined BirdLife International as its 125th Partner organization, expanding regional conservation capacity in Polynesia where Samoa harbors nine endemic bird species and globally significant seabird populations while facing habitat degradation, invasive species, and climate impacts. SCS has led efforts to prevent extinction of the Critically Endangered Tooth-billed Pigeon (Manumea), Samoa's national bird, through species monitoring, community engagement, and implementation of a national recovery plan.
