Rowing team sets new world record after circumnavigating the UK
Reported byOceanographic Magazine ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
Grace Church, 22, became the youngest person to row the entire coastline of Great Britain; Team Nautilus completed the 2,000-mile GB Row Challenge in 38 days, 3 hours, 41 minutes and 25 seconds, earning a Guinness World Records title for fastest mixed crew of six. During the expedition, both rowing teams collected environmental data on microplastics, biodiversity, underwater noise, sea temperature and salinity for the University of Portsmouth's citizen science programme.
Data collection remains preliminary; full analysis and impact on understanding UK coastal health will take time to evaluate.
