Popular weight-loss drugs Ozempic and Wegovy may slow biological aging
Reported byScienceDaily ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
A randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial published in Nature Communications found that semaglutide slowed biological aging markers in 108 adults with HIV, including a 9% slower pace of aging on the DunedinPACE epigenetic clock and significant slowing of age-related disease processes.
Larger studies are needed before concluding the medication can help people age more slowly in broader populations.
