New Solar Tech Makes Desalinating Seawater Cheaper Than Producing Bottled Water

Chinese materials scientists developed a solar-powered desalination device using nanomaterials and organic polymers that absorbs 90.2% of incoming sunlight and uses 47.5% less energy than conventional methods, producing 5 gallons of fresh water daily and achieving economics cheaper than bottled water production at scale.
