Ember's Electric Coaches Show Intercity Bus Electrification Is Already Here
Reported byCleanTechnica ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
Ember operates more than 100 electric coaches across Scotland, having launched the UK's first all-electric scheduled intercity coach service in October 2020 with two coaches between Dundee and Edinburgh. The fleet now serves eight cities including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness, Fort William, Oban and Thurso.
Urban transit conversion (Lothian at ~20% electric buses) proceeds faster than regional coach networks; legacy fleet replacement in both segments continues gradually.
