CleanPeak Energy & Western Sydney International Airport Partner on 100% Renewable Electricity Deal
Reported byCleanTechnica ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
Western Sydney International Airport will run on 100% renewable electricity through a partnership delivering 9 MWp of new rooftop solar and 120 MWh battery storage, plus existing 4.5 MWp solar, supplying more than 18 GWh annually with CleanPeak investing over $50 million at the site.
The airport's electricity demand is expected to grow from 40 GWh to 120 GWh annually over 4-5 years; the deal currently covers full supply from day one (May 2026) but at lower volumes than projected future need.
