Can Psychedelics Reboot Aging Brains? We're About to Find Out
Reported bySingularity Hub ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
UC Berkeley's Center for the Science of Psychedelics is launching PLASTICITY, a first-of-its-kind trial testing psilocybin in healthy adults aged 60–85 to investigate whether the psychedelic increases brain plasticity and improves perception, emotion, memory, and overall well-being.
The trial is in early stages and results are not yet available. Psilocybin remains federally illegal in the US, and outcomes in healthy older adults may differ from therapeutic applications in younger people with diagnosed conditions.
