BasiGo expands Rwandan e-bus fleet to 52 vehicles
Reported byElectrive ↗·Sourced by Goodlede
BasiGo expanded its electric bus fleet in Rwanda to 52 vehicles with the latest delivery of 18 locally assembled intercity buses using CATL battery packs and offering up to 350 km range. The buses will operate on six intercity routes connecting Kigali to cities including Musanze, Rubavu, Huye, Rusizi and Nyagatare, with the company aiming to deploy 1,000 battery-electric buses across East Africa by 2027.
Fleet expansion accelerates regional electrification but depends on continued investment and charging infrastructure development across routes.
