Friends of Big Bear Valley announced that a $10 million fundraising campaign hit its goal to purchase Moon Camp, a stretch of land less than a mile from bald eagles Jackie and Shadow's nest in the San Bernardino Mountains, after a $5.5 million donation from OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman and his wife Anna pushed the campaign over the finish line ahead of a July 31 deadline.
The land purchase has been negotiated with the developer but transaction completion remains pending.
