The Metropolitan Area Planning Council launched CommunityEV Carshare in four Greater Boston communities using Beam Global's off-grid solar EV chargers and Zipcar EVs at $11–$13/hour, designed to expand affordable carsharing to historically underserved areas without grid connection costs.
